Mechanical maintenance engineer

TASKS

As mechanical maintenance engineer, you will ensure maximum performance of our installations. To this end, you manage a strong team and - in addition to daily operations - ensure a preventive maintenance plan and the development of improvement projects. All this with a strong focus on safety and quality.

• Daily maintenance: together with the foreman, you organize, plan and coordinate the maintenance of our installations.

• Preventive and curative maintenance: optimizing and following up maintenance schedules and improvement projects.

• Project management: coordinating mechanical aspects (with a wide range of equipment: dust filters, bulk transport, silos, pumps, valves, heat exchangers...), civil works and steel structures.

• Shut-downs: you support the turn-around engineer during shut-downs with scope monitoring at the mechanical level.

• Team coordination: you manage a team of work planners and ensure that the mechanics can maintain the installations. You create a constructive and motivated team atmosphere with your presence on the floor.

• Communication: you communicate smoothly with your colleagues in the maintenance team, but also with the various stakeholders within production & engineering. Externally, you are the point of contact for various contractors. You also supervise external work.

• Continuity: in the absence of the foreman, you take over his tasks. Together with your colleagues, you also guarantee continuity via a well-organised standby service.

• Documentation and management: you make a structured maintenance plan, keep records and optimise spare parts management.

• Safety and quality: you ensure correct compliance with safety and quality regulations on the work floor and within your team. You do not compromise on safety and quality.

PROFILE

We are looking for a driven maintenance engineer with strong mechanical knowledge and a pragmatic approach, who likes to take responsibility and realise improvements.

Education & experience:

•       You have an academic education in a technical or engineering discipline. A degree in Industrial Engineering option (electro)mechanics is a strong asset.

•       Several years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an industrial environment, is a plus.

•       Strong technical understanding of mechanics, interest in metallurgical and chemical processes.

Skills:

•       Strong communication skills in Dutch, practical knowledge of English.

•       Hands-on mentality with analytical and organizational skills.

•       Leadership and coaching qualities to motivate and support a team.
